A bit about casting: Casting sculptures using the ''lost wax'' method is time consuming and extremely costly. Most sculptors work in some soft form as a medium, such as microcrystalline wax. This is then moulded using silicone and fibreglass. From this, thinner wax replica's are made and then cast.

Working in wax:

Extremely time consuming and often very frustrating...it does yield a beautiful result though and can be reworked if the result is not satisfactory.
